A beloved dish of modern Greek home cooking, chicken fillet with mustard sauce perfectly combines juicy, well-cooked chicken breast with a rich and tangy mustard cream. Light, quick, and ideal for both a weekday lunch and a formal dinner table.


✅ Ingredients (Serves 4):

For the chicken:

  • 4 chicken breast fillets

  • 2 tbsp olive oil

  • 1 tsp salt

  • ½ tsp freshly ground pepper

For the mustard sauce:

  • 2 tbsp smooth yellow mustard

  • 1 tbsp whole grain mustard (optional)

  • 200 ml heavy cream

  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard (optional, for extra depth)

  • 1 tbsp lemon juice

  • Salt & pepper to taste


 Instructions:

  1. Prepare the chicken:
    Pat the chicken fillets dry with paper towels. Season them with salt and pepper.

  2. Sear the chicken:
    In a large non-stick pan, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat.
    Add the fillets and cook for 4–5 minutes per side, until golden brown and cooked through.
    Remove and set aside.

  3. Make the sauce:
    In the same pan, lower the heat and add the mustards and cream.
    Stir until smooth. Add the lemon juice and season with salt and pepper. Simmer gently for 2–3 minutes until slightly thickened.

  4. Combine:
    Return the fillets to the pan and spoon the sauce over them. Let them simmer together for 1–2 minutes to absorb the flavor.


Serving Suggestion

Serve the chicken fillets hot with steamed vegetables, mashed potatoes or rice.
